“Closing the Loop” refers to making the section of the Arkansas River Trail between Gill Street (to the west) and North Street (to the east) a safe corridor for traveling by foot or bicycle. This section is currently unsafe with a too narrow sidewalk and multiple busy street and entrance crossings. It has not had a substantial upgrade to be considered a part of the Arkansas River Trail which opened over 20 years ago.

The Arkansas River Trail is already a cherished asset to our city, attracting residents and visitors alike to enjoy the natural beauty and recreational opportunities along the river. However, the incomplete loop presents a barrier to fully experiencing the trail's potential.
